It would make a great novelty item, so I see no reason not to develop it. I have questions though. Is it easy to fold back into a hat shape? Is it easy to wash, considering it's gonna be on your head? Hair-oils, and all that. How strong is the fabric? Can it hold normal things like boxes and things with corners without tearing? I can see this more as an "emergency oh shit we forgot a bag" EDC-type of thing, maybe produce a special edition version for outdoors/survival use that can be used to filter water, use as a net to catch fish etc.
